Creating Your Account

1. Sign Up

Visit ButterStack.com and click Sign Up.

You can sign up using:

• Email & Password - Traditional account creation
• Google - Single sign-on with Google account
• GitHub - Single sign-on with GitHub account
• Microsoft - Single sign-on with Microsoft account

2. Verify Your Email

Check your email for a verification link and click to activate your account.

3. Complete Your Profile

Fill out your profile information:

• Full Name - Your display name
• Company - Your studio or organization name
• Role - Your position (Developer, Artist, Producer, etc.)

Creating Your First Project

Project Setup Wizard

After account creation, you’ll be guided through the project setup:

Step 1: Project Details

• Project Name - Your game or project title
• Engine - Select your game engine (Unreal, Unity, Custom)
• Platform - Target platforms (PC, Console, Mobile)

Step 2: Team Setup

• Invite Team Members - Add collaborators by email
• Set Permissions - Configure who can trigger builds

Step 3: Repository Connection

• Source Control - Connect Git, Perforce, or other VCS
• Repository URL - Your code repository location

Account Settings

Profile Management

Access your account settings from the user menu:

• Profile Information - Update name, email, avatar
• Password & Security - Change password, enable 2FA
• Notifications - Configure email and in-app alerts
• API Keys - Generate keys for integrations

Billing & Credits

ButterStack uses a credit-based system for build resources:

• Free Tier - 100 credits/month for small projects
• Starter - $29/month for 1,000 credits
• Professional - $99/month for 5,000 credits
• Enterprise - Custom pricing for large studios

Team Collaboration

Inviting Team Members

1. Go to Project Settings → Team
2. Click Invite Member
3. Enter email address and select role:
   • Admin - Full project access
   • Developer - Can trigger builds and view logs
   • Viewer - Read-only access to builds and reports

Security Best Practices

Two-Factor Authentication

Enable 2FA for enhanced security:

1. Go to Account Settings → Security
2. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
3. Scan QR code with authenticator app
4. Enter verification code to confirm

API Key Management

When generating API keys:

• Use descriptive names (e.g., “Jenkins Integration”)
• Set appropriate permissions
• Rotate keys regularly
• Never commit keys to version control

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Email Verification Not Received

• Check spam/junk folder
• Ensure email address is correct
• Request new verification email

Login Problems

• Clear browser cache and cookies
• Try incognito/private browsing mode
• Reset password if needed

Team Invitation Issues

• Verify email address spelling
• Check if user already has ButterStack account
• Ensure you have admin permissions
